Asian Automakers And Executives Get Shunned By Obama At Washington Auto Show
As President Barack Obama planned a visit to the Washington Auto Show for Jan. 31, non-U.S.-based automakers including Honda Motor Co. and Toyota Motor Corp. (7203) hustled to show off for him.

On about two days’ notice, they flew in executives from as far away as California. They trucked in their most fuel- efficient vehicles, as requested by White House staff.

Obama walked in, strolled past cars made in the U.S. by foreign companies and spent much of his half-hour tour being photographed with a Dodge Dart, a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, a Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1, a Ford C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid and a Chevrolet Malibu.

I can see it know. Air hoses at every gas pump. You will have to check your tire pressure before the gas pump works.

You press to the valve stem and it automatically fills the tire to the federally required tire pressure.

Racism? Bahahaha, sure. Or how about you just call it as it is? Obama is clearly still supporting the companies which he bailed out, if these companies continue to be successful, he wins. As the majority will view his actions in saving these companies in a positive light.

He is supporting the GM-UAW as pure political payback.
I really didn't have too much problem with him helping American companies and workers out in tough times, but it's gotten out of hand now without any sense of fairness or equality left. Unions don't really care about the workers, they are just trying to score points.

I would guess that the patriarchal Japanese owned plants may actually care more about workers and be better over the long term.

Thats the second smart think he has done while in office. The first was to bail out GM and Chrysler.

Anybody think the Prime Minister of Japan would be photographed at a Japanese auto show admiring the few foreign cars able to crack their market?

"Yes, I can totally see them checking out the competition. Even admiring!"

The only way I could see that is if they were so certain in everything they'd done to protect their own industry that they had nothing to fear. Japan's economy did not rise from the post-war ashes by freely allowing key industries to be dominated by foreign interests who had a momentary advantage.

wow, I can't believe what I'm reading here. I've never seen such hate for a public figure, Bush got more love than this and he was by all accounts a complete idiot that completely ruined this country. I never wanted to believe the Obama hate was/is racism but people make the most simplistic arguments against this guy, it's almost laughable. I'm also convinced that not a single person who used the word socialism in this thread knows what it is.

I'm a registered independent and most of the REAL independents, those of us who've voted for both Democrats and Republicans in our lifetimes look at this type of rhetoric for what it is, pure hatred for someone many perceive is not like them.

George Bush and the Republican party kicked you in the nuts, not Obama and the Dems. People really have short term memory in this country.

downvote me to oblivion, still doesn't make all of this Obama hatred any more rational. Some of you guys act like Obama slept with your wives. He certainly hasn't done anything in office to warrant such hatred so it must be personal. From what I can tell, he's killed more terrorists, put more resources on the border, and created more jobs than his predecessor and made us just a little less hated in the world.

I don't agree with everything the man has done, but he's in no way deserves to be demonized in the ways I've seen. Luckily most of you aren't old enough to vote..lol!!

I love the way you prefixed your racist, white power rant with the disclaimer "I'm not racist", nice touch and I haven't heard the "go back to Africa" rant since the 80's. You're so pathetic that you're funny, I literally can't stop laughing at you right now.

Guess what, A BLACK MAN IS YOUR LEADER..LMAO!!!

"I'm not a racist"...wow! Funny how you felt the need to point that out. Makes little difference though...your attitude pretty much gives it away. The least you can do is come out of the closet and embrace your white racist roots...you'll probably find you have a lot of friends...btw, they're called Republicans.
