Money NO Object - Would YOU Rather Have A RACE Car For The Road Or Ride In The Lap Of LUXURY?

Money NO Object - Would YOU Rather Have A RACE Car For The Road Or Ride In The Lap Of LUXURY?
Oh-kay, let's set up the scenario.

Let's say you had JUST enough money to make one splurge purchase. You already have a full fleet of autos and are satisfied; however, you have the choice of owning what is essentially a race car for the road (THINK: McLaren F1 LM, Lamborghini Diablo GTR, etc.) OR a luxury cruiser (THINK: Rolls-Royce Phantom, limo, etc.), what's it going to be?

The reason I ask is because while roaming around the internet I found an interesting video from what was described as a supercar event. A very limited PAIR of Lamborghini Diablo GTRs are spotted doing their thing and entertaining the crowd but it's so clear that these vehicles are not street legal. From the absurd noise to the race-ready gearbox, which has to constantly be revved to avoid a stall, this is not an easy car to drive.

I would love to own one though!

Granted, I can't seem to decide if I'd want that raw experience or to be completely pampered by the flying carpet-like ride of a Rolls-Royce or Maybach. If you live in a major metropolitan area, there's something incredibly refreshing about NOT worrying about driving. And, given that ALL vehicles will soon be connected, you can get more work done or spend your commute connecting with friends across the globe.

All of that said, what's it going to be for you?

Oh, and to see the AMAZING Diablo GTRs, look no further.

If those Lambos were street-legal, I'd take one over a Rolls any day.

I would drive the race car and be driven in the luxury car "King of New York" style.

trust me: you don't want to drive a racecar as a daily driver

It would depend on the intensity of the sports car, if the 911 is in the running, I'd choose the 911 in a heart beat, especially the new 991 or a 997. My 997 was a great daily driver, and I logged over 20,000 miles in a single year with it.

Of course, a nice BMW 750i or Mercedes S550 is a great ride too with decent handling.

A 911 is a GT, being a compromise between sport and luxury (except the GT3 RS and GT2 RS, which are track cars if one ever existed). The question here is which extreme end of the speed/comfort spectrum you'd rather reside at if given the ultimatum.
