Evoque Demand Leaves Land Rover Dealers Clamouring For More
It has been years since Land Rover North America had a hot, pricey product in short supply.

That's why dealers are pleading for more of the new compact Evoque three- and five-door SUV, which has an entry price with transportation of $43,995 for the five-door model and $44,995 for the three-door.

Worldwide demand for the Evoque is high, and some U.S. dealers don't know when they'll get more. The Evoque was launched last fall.

Proof that people will buy any POS if they think it will get them laid.....

Couldn't agree more.

The Evoque is a poser product and once the newness wears off it will get older faster than Madonna's half time show yesterday at the Eli Bowl, er I mean Super Bowl.

Land Rover's future still lies with the new RR due out in a year and it has some VERY big shoes to fill.

I live in Boston and haven't seen a single one. Is it the West Coast posers who don't even need 4WD who account for this demand?

I have not seen that many on the roads even here in Southern California. I dont know why all the hate. Other than the STEEP price tag, this car is actually really nice. The glass roof on this thing is stunning.

Price tag is a problem, and anyone can put glass on a roof... I personally was excited to see this, and then disappointed when I did. Haven't driven one, but doubt it feels or sounds good with that Ford motor. Oh ya, and haven't seen a one on the road here in Nor Cal.

how stupid are you? My RRS can climb over whatever your driving and then most likely beat it to 60 mph from a standstill

You all love hate on LR and say that people who buy them are posers, while that may be true with over 90% of the buyers, you really think it's any different when it comes to idiots leasing a 328i???

BTW, the RRE can is just as off-road capable as the LR2, tested by several publications (one of the many reasons why it won the awards it did) and the LR2/RRE is more off-road capable than ANY compact luxury SUV on the market.

so you don't lease your Rover? Why not? It would be cheaper so you can dump it after it starts to cost an arm and a leg to keep running.

I think it is a beautiful design but I could not own one for a simple reason. You cannot see out of the flippin thing because of the small size of it's rear window. Unless it has a stellar rear camera I think it will be a nightmare to drive in heavy traffic. Of special problem is when somebody in a car comes up behind you or along side of you. The fact that you sit higher up hampers your ability to see as well out compared to a regular sedan or coupe.
