Yesterday & Today, The Acura NSX - Living Up To Its Legendary Older Brother?
Coming straight from Honda's Japanese PR department is an all-new video that takes a look back at the first-generation Acura NSX. The original NSX was a critical element in making the brand POP in the U.S.
Think of it like this: The NSX was yesterday's Audi R8. Prior to the R8, Audi's were more or less like a Saab or Volvo -- it was known but only had a cult following. Once the R8 sprang to life, with its glimmering LEDs, everyone took notice of the halo car and jumped into an A4 or Q5.
With Acura, folks hopped into the Legend or Integra.
Now that Acura has resurrected the infamous NSX that gave the marque an infusion of life,
will the upcoming NSX be able to live up to the legend?
The design is remarkable, but some commenters have lamented the vehicle for it having a hybrid powertrain.

I think it will probably be a disappointment for the same reason as the CR-Z: the hybrid gear, which will weigh it down and increase its price.

I'm not caring much for the front and rear styling.

The AWD system would be even better if they add a few more letters upfront ;)
Honda needs this car on the street yesterday. And for the rest of us they need to revive the Prelude in place of the Accord Coupe.

Wasn't the existing sh-awd system better? As I see only allowing ev power to the front wheels means that the total torque transfer is very limited.

It's still a prototype, however if it remains a hybrid it will probably be heavy (3000lbs. 1.4T and up)
