NHTSA Opens Probe For Toyota Camry And RAV4 Fire Risks
U.S. safety regulators have opened a preliminary investigation into consumer complaints of driver's side door fires in 2007 model year Toyota Camry sedans and RAV4 crossover SUVs.

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said an estimated 830,000 vehicles may be affected. This probe is short of a recall but may lead to one.

Shit happens, the issue is the maker's response to it. Do you think Toyota should offer replacement vehicles until fixed or buy back the affected ones?

Even with one problem GM agreed to changes and paid for loaners etc.However Toyota with 6 problems still is not fessing up.Thats the difference between the Americans and Japanese.

Well, one thing is to give loaners to/replace 8000 vehicles/owners, quite another is to do it with 800,000.

This is true, another downfall of using the same components across most of their model range. Can't rent Camries when the Rav4's are down!
