BATTLE Of The BROTHERS! WHICH One WINS Your Vote? 535i M-Sport Or 550i M-Sport?

BATTLE Of The BROTHERS! WHICH One WINS Your Vote? 535i M-Sport Or 550i M-Sport?
It's hard not to like the new BMW 5-Series.

It has so much going for it, from looks to performance.

But in MY opinion WHICH 5 to choose ISN'T an easy choice these days.

Both the 535i and 550i have their pros and cons.

The 535i has amazing balance and GREAT fuel economy and the 550i has that raw V8 POWER.

But one thing that is a no-brainer is that whichever one strikes your fancy MORE, you MUST outfit it with the GORGEOUS M-Sport package!

So here are the contenders...

In the SILVER corner is the 535i with factory M-Sport garb and in the WHITE corner is the 550i M-Sport complete with SEMA-like custom work with a lowered body and custom black wheels.

WE want to know if you were going to buy one for yourself with your OWN money would you choose the SILVER 535i or the WHITE 550i and WHY?

We know there are two trains of thought. SOME like the classic factory look and others like theirs a little over the top so this won't be easy...

And to make this more interesting, both of these cars are owned by my neighbors and whichever one is chosen, the OTHER is GONNA get bragging rights!

So which is it SPIES?

535i with FACTORY M-Sport kit OR 550i M-Sport SEMA-fied?

Discuss!

I do mucho city commuting, bumper to bumper traffic, rarely do I break 70mph or need the raw acceleration of this very awesome V8. Realistically, I'd probably enjoy the balance of the 535i on a day to day basis than the raw power of the V8.

I also chose the 535i because is less weigh and better balance.

535i without a doubt. tasteful. understated. and all around great car in terms of performance, balance, practicality, etc.

this 550i is wrong on so many levels...white, black wheels. garish. what makes people think they know better than the hundreds of engineers and designers who created the car?

A 5-Series M Sport in white is beautiful (not that particular one, just in general). Dark Graphite is right up there too, and of course, black. Silver is one of my least favorite colors on the car, oddly, since I like it on many other models.

Well I chose the 535i M-sport in white as my daily driver and I love it so far. Took me two weeks to drain the first tank of gas and I live in LA and drive quite a bit. The 550i....especially this one with the custom touches, what a stunner and I'd surely love the extra power. But the 535i is enough to get me in plenty of trouble and is an amazing car to drive. Toss up all the way and great comparison, Spies.

Hey SPIES,

Here's my question:
528i M Sport (N20) vs. 535i M sport?
I really can't decide!

Really tough one. I'd personally go with the 535i, just for that little extra power and I6.

535i. The 550 just does not look right with the black wheels. I guess your neighbor will be pissed when they read this.

Remember, all that matters is if YOU like your car, not what others think.

You guys are picking the car that costs much less? I'd take the 550. When it comes time to trade it in you guys would have wished you've done the same.

Unfortunately, the 535i holds its value better than the 550i.
