LEAKED Shots Show All-New Lexus ES - Does The NEW Look Work? Will It ALSO Get An F-Sport Model?
Thanks to a Agent 001's handiwork, we got a hold of photographs depicting the 2013 Lexus ES. Considering this is one of Lexus' oldest products in its line up, it needed a proper update badly.

Now the entry-level luxury sedan is sporting all-new sheet metal and a modern interior that should make it more class competitive. But wow, Lexus has really dialed up the sportiness for 2013. Notice the all-new front valence with the GS-inspired grille, and edgier styling. Notice the LS-inspired taillights and C-Pillar?

If I didn't know any better, I'd say Lexus is trying to take the ES a bit more upmarket.

But a funny thing occured to me today. I was thinking about this ES and now that we've seen the leaked photos of the all-new RX, which will get an F-Sport model, is the ES next in line for the F treatment?

I mean, if the RX got one, it only makes sense that the super sedate ES would get one too, right?

In addition, I am also a bit curious: Do YOU think this new, sportier look works for cars in the Lexus portfolio that are meant to be sold to the Palm Beach, 65 and older crowd?

New ES like the new GS is surely going to be more performance oriented and i wouldn't be surprised if the FWD ES handle as well as the German competition(FWD Audi A4, upcoming Benz FWD baby CLS)

There is 'Lexus GS Challenge' feature running in Motor Trend & Automobile Magazine where GS F-sport beat 535i and ES350 in all usual performance tests and proves that dynamically it sets the standard in it's class.

It will have an AVS system so the driver can change the ride.

Making a Sports oriented ES would be a complete waste of time and money. Lexus drivers that want "sporty" performance, or the appearance of sport, gravitate towards the IS. Lexus does need to bring a GS-F, which they have been teasing for almost a decade, to market.

totally agree. an ES F-sport would be schizophrenic. grandma is not the target market for sport models.

Except for the rear side which they copied from my LS and the added LED lights in the front, it looks just as lame as the car it replaces. I am currently in RoK for business and there are many HYUNDAIs that look very close to this car. MorePower is correct, who looks at a ES for performance? Just look at the demographics of the people that purchase this car.

F-Sport on an ES just makes lexus look worse. Competitors (Nissan, Benz, BMW, etc) start out with a sport design/engineering intent so making a sport model with these cars makes sense. However, the ES is a snore mobile; there is nothing about the chassis engine or suspension design that remotely makes it sport. So an F-Sport model of an ES is just an insult to knowledgeable buyers and just cheapens the ES. Like always toyota are like the Pakleds.

I will reserve my judgement until I see it in the flesh, but on the surface they appeared to have made a logical progression.

I imagine our Lexus will be in the shop around the time it releases.

Its a baby LS with the new corporate grille. It looks good but honestly it doesn't seem like the Lexus designers tried very hard. I guess there older demographic buyers won't care.

If the car looks sexy it will sell to all ages. Lexus wants to get younger drivers and I think they are moving in the right direction.

An improvement in driving dynamics may help, but the ES sells well because it was a great value from a top brand with excellent quality. Lexus will need to preserve the value part of the formula for it to be a success. Money doesn't grow on trees even for the 25 percenter's.

How many times are you going to post the same article? This is old news, which you've posted already last week.

Intresting. Other than the extra window dividers, the side profile ripped off the Mazda 6. It just has Lexus boring doors on it that's all.
What the hell, the Acaura ZDX ripped off the Mazda 6's side too.
