Obama Poised To Take Credit for Automotive Bailout At UAW Convention

President Barack Obama will address the United Auto Workers legislative convention on Tuesday — the same day Michigan voters go to the polls to pick their choice for Republican nominee for president.
The White House said Friday that Obama will address more than 1,600 active and retired members of the Detroit-based union, who kick off their National Community Action Program Legislative Conference on Sunday.
Obama will again tout his support for the auto industry and his decision to rescue General Motors Co. and Chrysler Group LLC in 2009 as part of the government's $85 billion auto bailout.
