WHICH and WHY? BMW M6 Convertivble vs. Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG
OK. Recently, two of the industry's heavy hitters released some of their top of the line products. The BMW M6 and the Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG.
Both are meant to evoke style, class and have a tremendous amount of power, but they go about doing so in completely different manners. However, they're both representing their respective automakers performance divisions.
What we do know about these 500 + horsepower monsters it that they're likely to wind up as boulevard cruisers.
What we don't know is WHICH you want and WHY.
That said, fill us in with what all-new drop-top German you'd like and why....

M6 all the way. The new SL is unbelievably ugly.

YES, I want it, or rather the wife wants it, only for boulevard use.
Hard top is deciding factor. A yes for the SL, based only on that.
I enjoy it too, as an aside from S-Class.
Again, hard top quiet, no deterioration. I've had both types. No contest.
But, I'll say it again, 'the new SL, looks like the old SL'. eh? who want that?

You know, I'd have to go M6 this time around.
The new SL, from visual appearance alone, has lost me a bit...

Well Both are completely different. SL63 is 2 passengers, M6 is 4 passengers. Old SL63 was heavier than the new one and even with that overweight it was better on the track than the M6. SL63 definitely is superior (even with the weird front). Performance wise, It will better than the M6 but also the M6 is bigger and longer wheelbase (as far as I know)so no surprise that the SL63 will perform better. BMW does not have anything to put against the SL63 right now. They have the capability to do it but Business wise, is not profitable for them right now so they wont spend time or money to match the SL63. Again both cars are great but pointed to different markets. M6 is Grand Tourer and is a more practical car. SL63 is more exclusive by far than the M6. Lets put the choice in this way: If you are more than 2 in your family, buy an M6, If you are 2 or one, pick the SL63. The main attractive of the SL63 is the retractable hard top, which let it alone in that category of price, M6 is soft roof (that I do not like). The other option would be the Ferrari California, (but you would be stepping in other price category). End of the story, both cars are different.

Yonder- put down the crack or pot or whatever you are smokin'.
The new SL has arrived DOA and only Mercedes loyalists will end up buying it.
Not saying it's a bad car. But it's like comparing Jermey Lin to CP3.
Both are great players/point guards but Lin is just that much better....

The SL is actually hard on the eyes. What is wrong with MB design center? Too much schnaps? Awful looking SL!

We know the BMW will be better to drive. I think it's better looking as well. Mercedes design these days are so dull and boring. There's no passion or flair whatsoever. Give me an M6 every day
