What Is Your Game Plan For $5 A Gallon Gas?
I have this theory. I think that every time there’s an event that can be even remotely connected to oil production, the producing companies raise the price to hair on fire levels, and then slowly drop it back to somewhere lower, but still more than it was before.

This makes people feel like they’re getting some relief even when they’re still getting screwed. Lately, the reason for the run on crude has been Iran’s desire to go fission, which may or may not end up in Israel becoming a glowing hole on the edge of the Mediterranean. At least that’s what they’re saying as to why gas prices have jumped by a good half buck the past two weeks.

Blame Obama. Even though he has nothing to do with fuel prices. And anyone who thinks that he does is a fool.

2yrs ago I started walking within 2 miles of the house. Pressure my rep to push for the Glass–Steagall Act. My suv will have child named altima hybrid next year, I will save almost $300 mth in fuel. I'm buying a car anyway, so it will be hybrid and if Im ok with how it drives, and A hybrid SUV gets 30 MPG or more the SUV will be replaced in time.

I made my game plan for $5 a gallon gas 15 years ago:

Work and live in a city where I can walk or take public transportation, even if it means making less or having a smaller house (more time to enjoy life).

Walk whenever you can (at least 7 miles a day for me).

Drive when you need to, but whatever you want, because you'll still be consuming less than many hybrid/economy-car drivers with long commutes (my car gets 17 mpg).

Live within your means.

Here in western Washington, we had a refinery fire that shut production down for a spell. Prices went up almost immediately, and rather rapidly. Diesel actually climbed slower, so the price spread was reduced. Premium Unleaded is now around $4.30, and diesel about $4.40.

Is that refinery back in production ? Was it one of the many excuses for tha latest price run up . Evertime we here about " refinery fire" , there is a price run up . Even after the fire is out and repairs have been made , there is no price reduction . We have not had any large damaging hurricanes lately so , I guess they need use some once used excuses once more .

I was doing some shopping in supermarket and was surprised food price was up about 20% in several months. My game plan is to elect whoever can get it down to $3 or even 2 dollars. The current one apparently cannot.

I'm green in many aspects, but I don't need to take this SHIT and forced to be green on cars!

I ssupports all of there health care from cradle to grave . Could be they are getting a better deal after all . He also said there is no shotage of money there either

Definitely. Some countries are not hijacked by a certain group of people, trying to make themselve richer in the name of democracy.

LexSucks,
President Obama is partly to blame for the high gas price. The gas price was $3.05/gal on 1/2/08 and was as high as $4.11/gal on 7/7/08. After President Bush open drilling to offshore areas and other land areas, the price of gas got as low as $1.61/gal on 12/31/08. When President Obama ran for office back in 2008, he and the Democrats were demagoguing President Bush for his "failed energy policies". If President Obama had "nothing to do with fuel prices", why was he saying it was President Bush's fault for the high gas price in 2008? It is true that our domestic production is at an 8 year high, but that is due to President Bush granting lots of permits for drillings. It takes 3-5 years after permits are granted before we can see the production of oil. What we are currently seeing in high production was due to the permits granted in 2008 by President Bush. Also, most of the production is coming from private land, not federal land. President Obama and the EPA have reduced the permits for drilling offshore and on federal land. When it comes to gas price, I don't care who is in office. I just want to pay as little as possible and $4 is not little.

Bush starts it, and Obama DIDN'T change it - printing money and putting every American under more debt! One day US will be in war with many countries to eliminate this debt....

Should you be asking the government and the oil companies what their plans are for the gas prices? or are they going to blame the conflicts in the middle east? Anyone that believes in this international effect is a complete idiot!!

get a Fisker Karma and use an extension cord to plug it in every night into my neighbors outdoor socket ???

the government always has and always will be a bunch of crooks !!! when the barrel drops, the price doesn't come down because they say " it takes time before it takes effect" yet when there is some catastrophe, it goes up instantly..

obama is targeting $9 a gallon to satisfy his demented leftist dreams to rid Americans of driving gas powered cars.

odumbo wants electric cars. Trouble with odumbo's peanut brain is that the cars are then powered by COAL fired power plants (49% of all plants are coal). So where is the advantage?

odumbo and the leftist's philosophy is a feel good religion that blinds them to the facts of life and unintended consequences. They are children out of control.
