Volkswagen Blows Out February With A 42.5% Leap In Sales
Volkswagen of America, Inc. (VWoA) today reported 30,577 units sold in February, a 42.5 percent increase over prior year sales and best February since 1973.

"February's strong sales of 30,577 units and back-to-back record months reflects the increasing consumer confidence in the marketplace and strong interest for our products," said Jonathan Browning, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. "With escalating fuel prices, we anticipate increased demand for our full-range of fuel efficient vehicles, particularly our TDI Clean Diesel models, to continue into the spring selling season."

The Passat, recently named the #1 Family Car for 2012 by Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com, continues to be a success in the competitive mid-size sedan segment with 8,189 units for the month of February.

Jetta sedan remains the volume leader for Volkswagen with sales totaling 11,694, its best February ever.

The 2012 Beetle sold 1,303 units. The TDI Clean Diesel Coupe was unveiled this month at the Chicago Auto Show; it will go on sale late summer 2012.

The Tiguan continued strong sales with 2,280 units sold, marking the best February ever. The Touareg vehicles saw an increase in sales with 65.1 percent with 723 units sold.

Volkswagen's high-mileage, clean diesel TDI models account for 21.3 percent of sales in February, a 54.6 percent increase versus the prior month.

When will the whole world learn; VW VEHICLES ARE UNRELIABLE !!!!

At least according to some Autospies commenters.

I guess the rest of the world just won't listen.

Maybe it’s the fortune VW is spending in advertising with the constant flow of VW/Audi commercials on almost every network.. brain washing people.

Maybe because they aren't anymore? At least that's been my experience over the past ten years.

Brainwashing like American car companies did through the 80's -2000's and still do today? How else do you think we sold all of those pos cars like luminas, tempos, cavaliers and pontiacs that interiors fell apart after a year or two and the front end sat way higher than the rear and raised even higher when you accelerated. Hondas and Toyotas were so much better made it was ridiculous yet people still bought pos explorers of the 90's over the far superior made 4 runners of the 90's

I've owned Audi/VW products in the past and I've never had any issues which would make me deem the car as being 'unreliable'.

VW is the most profitable car maker in 2011 with > 20 billion net profit with 8.2 million cars, profit even higher than the best year 2007 of Toyota when Toyota sold 9.4 million cars.

I've always owned VW / Audi with nothing but great things to say about them. I have a one week old 2012 GTI and I feel like I am 18 all over again. Such an awesome car to drive with a 6 speed.

You are not going to be very popular with such positive comments about VW.

Did you not get the Anti VW Press-Release ?

Just watch your rating go down.

Ill help stem the de-boosting by giving you a +1

Considering all the Touareg's I see in Southern California, I'd venture to guess the Los Angeles area accounts for 90% of it's sales. I wasnt aware Touareg sales were so minimal.

In fact, I wasnt aware VW sales, as a whole, were so minimal. The Jetta is the only vehicle breaking 10k units/month.

No problems there

In the Whole of Europe Infinity would struggle to shift 1k vehicles a month.

Thats a market of 738 million people.
