Bill Clinton Agrees That Obama Saved The Auto Industry And The Nation
The decision to save the U.S. auto industry is President Barack Obama's biggest achievement — bigger than landmark health care reform, former President Bill Clinton told more than 1,600 current and retired autoworkers Thursday morning.

In a 50-minute speech to the United Auto Workers union's Community Action Program convention here, the former president also criticized a Republican presidential candidate for opposing the $85 billion auto bailout.

"Everytime I hear Mr. Romney talking about this, I think his daddy must be turning over in his grave," Clinton said of Mitt Romney's late father George, who was a three-term governor of Michigan and chief executive at American Motors. "We could not afford to lose a million and a half to 2 million jobs."

President Clinton, President Obama and Governer Romney are intelligent men. Gov Romney took a gamble, factored in the economy at the time and made a statement that will haunt him, it's that simple. He gamble and lost this one.

Wow, talk about your revisionist history! All George Bush did was kick in a relatively small amount of cash to avoid a collapse of the economy on the verge of a Republican election... To the screaming objections of a couple of Dicks (Shelby and Cheney). BTW, I hate Obama and Clinton.

Where Yo'mama went wrong was allowing Fiat to take Chrysler for free, and not insisting on US stock ownership as a condition of loans. Now the company is propping-up another broken socialist company, just like 2000.

Chrysler just had its 23rd consecutive monthly sales gain (40% this month) and there isn't one damn nut or bolt from Fiat inside a Chrysler dealership yet. That sort of proves the problem was market timing and credit collapse, given that major product improvements take years to make. Thus much of the "improved" Chrysler was already in the pipeline.

Badgewhore2, Sergio Marchionne saved Chrysler through his decisions, his restructuring and certainly through the refreshes/redesigns of the 200, the 300, the Dodge counterparts, and the continuous improvement of the all-new Ram pickup, all of which were done in half the time it would have taken another automaker. To claim a nut or bolt isn't Fiat is erroneous.

I'm not an Obama lover or hater. But I also don't understand what the Obama haters would point to as a successful political action/decision of the last 10 years that has put us in the right direction.

George Bush saved the economy!! and it was Bush that killed Bin Laden. GW is also resposible for the DOW hitting 13,000, and ending the Iraq War. He also helped free Syria from Khadafi. Anything good that happens while Obama is president is because of George Bush. Anything bad that happens to the country while Obama is president is Obama's fault.

Face if, Obama was right on this issue and Romney is wrong. That's not politics, that's economics. There was no guarantee it would work out financially, but in the end Chrysler paid back everything that they borrowed. My guess is that GM stock will rise enough that the Fed will sell out by the election, and be in the black on that investment too.

It's OK for the Republican Party to say that they don't believe in government intervention in private businesses at anytime, under any conditions. However, once you make that your policy, you have to deal with the fallout of millions of lost jobs. You make a choice and take the consequences.

Yep if it wasn't for Obama this nation would've been doomed. umm wait a second, our nation IS doomed because of Obama!!

All politicians are crooks no matter who they are, we need an average American who truly loves this country and works for it, and not someone who milks it!!

Obama was given an economy when he took office that was the worst since the "Great Depression". No other president in recent history has had to deal with what Obama had to deal with. It is so easy to bash Obama. However Clinton has said more then once that he believes this economy recession is on a 5 or 6 yr cycle. That brings us clear through 2014 before things return to pre 2008.There is not a single Republican running for the presidency that has said anything intellegent about how they would help the economy. The fact is that if any one of them had to face what Obama faced they would fall flat on their face. You have one candidate who cannot relate to middle income or lower class working people no matter how hard he tries. You have another who is a religious zealot who hates gay people. You have another candidate who beleives in complete isolationism. And finally you have a candidate who's only skills are that perhaps he is a good debater and bullier and wants moon base "Luna" rather then figuring out a way to pay for it.Obama clearly has his problems. However compared to these 4 stooges he is the lesser of these evils. The only thing I liked about Bush was that he started the auto bailout.I liked the fact that Obama finished what Bush started. This is his main triumph as president in my eyes. Further he is the only one I'd vote for by default.

Bill Clinton doesn't know that a blow job is really sex. Who you gonna believe now? A lying unethical jerk or the plain truth?

If Clinton says that odumbo saved the world, you know he's abusing his methadone dose again and is functionally insane.
