GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: STUD or DUD - Did Range Rover Defy The Odds And Make A GOOD Looking SUV Convertible?

GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: STUD or DUD - Did Range Rover Defy The Odds And Make A GOOD Looking SUV Convertible?
I remember the day Nissan unveiled it's Murano CrossCabriolet. After the initial reaction of "Wow, they actually did something incredibly out of the box," it was followed with a "eeesh, look at that thing." And when we thought about it, we couldn't justify one sport-utility vehicle that WOULD look good as a convertible.

It's just not natural.

But now the ultra stylish Range Rover Evoque has decided to jump into the game and strut its stuff at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Though we won't draw our conclusion just yet, we will say it has received our undivided attention.

And yes, we've expressed that the Range Rover Evoque is arguably the most attractive SUV -- definitely most attractive Range Rover -- in sometime.

Aside from that, we want to know from YOU: Did Range Rover actually build a GOOD looking SUV convertible?

**By the way, we told you this would happen!

Unless it has pop up roll bars that will never make it into production.

Way too "Sex in the City" for LR but heh, they have to make money and if Porsche can make SUV's and sedans than why not a Land Rover Cabriolet.

idk, i disagree. there are a lot of newer 2-dr verts out now that don't have the roll bar. See M-B, BMW, Chrys coupe-convertables....

i do like this RR convertible design though. Wished Jeep would've done this years ago. And no, the Wrangler need not apply. Maybe now they will consider something, at least in concept form.

All the vehicles you mentioned have pop-up pistons positioned behind the rear headrests.

The concept shown above also has the same setup.

Stud, but I like an aluminum brush bar for extra protection and support for the roof.

Did the Murano convertible really need some competition? These are answers to a question that didn't need an answer. But it'll find buyers regardless.

It's an impossible task, but the answer is still no.
