Ford Awards Mulally $58.3 Million In Stock For Bailout Free Turnaround
Ford Motor Co. (F) awarded Chief Executive Officer Alan Mulally $58.3 million in stock as a reward for the automaker’s turnaround.

Ford paid the stock to its top executive as part of an incentive plan for 2009, according to filings yesterday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Ford earned $29.5 billion in the last three years after $30.1 billion in losses from 2006 through 2008. The shares, which traded as low as $1.01 on Nov. 20, 2008, closed yesterday in New York at $12.09.

So he was compensated for his performance? That's how it should be.

Oh, and this little gem made me laugh: "Last July, United Auto Workers President Bob King assailed Mulally’s compensation as “outrageous” and “excessive.”"

Mr. Mullaly earned it. Good for him.

Now if he could just get rid of the UAW, he could really make something out of the Ford Motor Company. And, I might even buy one of his cars.

CARS ARE FUN

So you get paid millions of dollars for doing your job on top of your salary and you guys call that he deserve it. How many of you get millions of dollars for doing your job.

And you wonder why the prices of things keep going up and you guys can't even get an inflation increase every year.

The problem is there are very few people in this world even capable of doing what Mulally does. Compensation earned in my book.

so when they do bad job like GM, they still get bonuses. They are in that position and they get a Salary period. just like the rest of us. And don't tell me there are only a few people who can do that job. Has it been offered to anyone else that you can compare. It is all about decision and sometimes you make good one and sometime you don't. And even with Ford I am sure he has made some bad decisions that we don't hear about.

Well, it wasn't only him that turned around Ford, now was it? The Feds helped a lot - so did the COO.
