Toyota Tries To Kickstart Venza Sales For Third Time

Toyota is hoping the third time is the charm for its Venza cross/utility vehicle, which is set for another U.S. marketing push.

First launched in late 2008 during the height of the economic downturn, the Georgetown, KY-built, Camry-based midsize CUV failed to gain traction with purse-pinching consumers.

After the furor from Toyota’s 2010 unintended-acceleration scandal died down, the Japanese auto maker re-launched the midsize CUV last year with a dedicated advertising campaign. Sales improved, but then came Japan’s earthquake and tsunami that caused parts shortages in the U.S., where the Venza is built.

It's basically a Camry Wagon, which they made until '93-94 I think.
Venza is just too expensive than the regular Camry.

I have a 2010 Venza. It is very quiet, very smooth, has plenty of power, and is VERY reliable. I have had NO problems with it. I have had NUMEROUS compliments that it is BEAUTIFUL. I like the Camry too, but I like the Venza a lot more.

While this is probably a reliable and great vehicle, you are clearly blind if you think that front end is "beautiful".

Venza is ugly and handles like crap! The handling in this thing is so bad I am scared to drive it! I have driven one and you would be surprised there is so much body lean that it unsettles the back end. Driving this thing in winter weather is a death wish!

@ jaes0510 You must be blind.You can call the rest ugly and everyone will agree but to call the Equinox ugly is plain Stupid.It looks way better than the front end on a Venza.In fact the Venza has a front only a mother can love.
