NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: Nissan Teases The 2013 Altima's Butt
As a user kindly pointed out to me in a recent $20-something K sedan showdown, the Nissan Altima is as relevant as ever. And they were right, if you're ONLY talking about sales figures.

**Note: The Nissan Altima was the fourth most-sold car in 2011.

Aside from sales figures though, it has aged quite a bit. Not like fine wine. Not one bit.

That being said, Nissan will be unveiling the 2013 Altima at the 2012 New York Auto Show, which appears to have underwent a drastic change. Of course this meant that Nissan would opt-in to do the auto businesses latest public relations move, otherwise known as the "slow reveal."

You know, it's the patented strategic decision to have bloggers post about a taillight or front air vent to the point it becomes as exciting as watching slugs race.

Which is actually a pretty good comparison to the excitement of an Altima launch.

I had to.

Anyhoo, look for the new Altima in New York. We'll be on site to see if the Altima can keep it's reigning grasp on midsize sedan sales charts.

Nissan has released a third video clip and image offering another glimpse of the bold design of the all-new 2013 Altima sedan in advance of its world premiere at the New York Auto Show in April.

The rear view offers a hint of the all-new Altima's design and forward-thinking innovations, which will bring outstanding fuel economy, premium design inside and out, and driver-focused technologies to a midsize sedan.

I mean we haven't seen much but it seems to be getting a more "premium" look, no?

Looks are a little closer to Maxima now, but retains the overall shape it has now. It sells really well so Nissan didn't have to get really drastic with the design (current Camry evolution comes to mind). Personally I would've liked to have seen more changes since its basically had the same look for 10 years now.

Agree that they didn't have to get too drastic as it's always looked pretty good, especially compared to the Camry. I was hoping they would once and for all remove all traces of of Alteeza bling from the rear tail lights, but I see that they still left a bit of silver to please the old-school customer base.
