Bentleys are meant to be supremely comfortable and I am not sure how that would mesh with a sportscar, probably would have been something like a Veyron light.

So, instead of going against the 911, they are going for Audi Q7, VW Tourag, Porsche Cayenne, and the non-existent Lamborghini SUV.

The SUV market Bentley is targeting is entirely dominated by the Big Range Rover Autobiography and to a lesser extent, Cayenne Turbo/S.

It will not be competing with the Q7s, MLs, Touaregs or others in that segment.

You have to understand, many of the Really Rich like to differentiate themselves from the lesser mortals, so they have the Mulsannes and 458s and Aventadors. But when it comes to SUVs they are stuck with Range Rover and Cayennes which even you will admit are quite common these days.

If Bentley makes an SUV that starts at £120,000 / $150-160k I guarantee they will sell over 1000 units a year
