The Next Avalon? Toyota Teases 4 Door Coupe Concept For New York Auto Show

Toyota has just released an image of what it says is an all-new, designed-in-America sedan.

The new car is scheduled to  debut at the 2012 New York Auto Show next week.

While this may be just a concept car, both the LF-LC and  FT-86 has proven that Japanese automaker is open to turning concepts into reality. however this may also be Toyota's way of  answering the threat imposed by VW with the CC and Hyundai with the all new Azera 4 door coupe like models.

The car is described as having "an elegant yet athletic look," the teaser rear end most likely belongs to a next-generation full-size sedan.  Possibly the Avalon.

If if is indeed a coupe it could slot between the Camry and Avalon, pretty much in the same segment as the CC.

I bet this is the Lexus 4-Door Coupe concept, but wearing a Toyota badge.
