SPIED: The UPDATED Audi R8 Spyder Is Caught WITHOUT Camouflage
So, it's been several years since the Audi R8 made its blockbuster debut and you know what that means. It's time has come and it's due for a makeover.

Other spy images have shown the vehicle with simple details that have been modified. Take, for example, the updated headlights and taillights, and slightly changed grille. It's clearly visible that the R8 will benefit from a set of FULL LED headlights that are more in line with the squared-off and angular appearance of the latest Audi's on the market.

But it's not all done there. While there hasn't been any official confirmation, word on the street suggests that the R8 will benefit from a new, dual-clutch transmission with the very real possibility of a power bump.

According to World Car Fans, the newer R8 should appear at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

We say bring it on!

...as you can see in these pictures, changes will be minor with the only visible modifications being the full LED headlights, a slightly revised front grille as well as remodeled taillights...

Looks like the car is progressing to look almost like the first old R8 concept

I think the R8 is starting to look a little dated now.

Whats with the flower like wave rotors? Look kind of gimmicky.

I like the R8 spyder. A lot. But this incarnation is wowing me less for some reason.

On a website dedicated to R8 and their owners, the common thinking is that the "facelift" does very little to improve on the looks - maybe the opposite. The new rear lights are generally not liked. The thing that folks are excited about is the dual clutch transmission and an upgraded electronics package. As far as the car looking dated, my Porsche doesn't get a second look, but my R8 V10 spyder attracts attention and positive comments like nothing I've ever experienced.

@pcar4evr... I think the reason why you're getting more comments for your R8 is because Porches are a dime a dozen (at least here in cali).... whether you own a Boxster or a 911 Turbo... simply because the designs across the model ranges and especially years are too similar... well, at least to the untrained eyes. Whereas the R8 is a "new" and "unique" design for Audi. For every 30 or so Porsche's, I see an R8 out here in LA... and seeing one is actually a breath of fresh air

Uhh... I don't see much difference in this "new" version...
