Its also no Scirocco. I couple of points about the current Scirocco that makes more appealing to me then the Golf or even a Golf CC.
1)The Scirocco has more aggressive styling. You really see how the body bulges out over the rear wheels.
2)It is lower then the Golf. The current Golf is 58 stands 58 inches high. The current Scirocco is 55 inches high. This is still too high in my opinion but it stands 3 inches lower then the Golf. Even the new golf will stand over 57 inches high.
3) The current Scirocco has a wider front and rear track then the Golf.
This combination of lower height (meaning a lower center of gravity) and wider tracks bode well for handling. In fact most publications give the handling edge to the Scirocco over the GTI. I do admit the mew Mark 7 Golf may even the score up a bit as it is supposed to have wider tracks.
The Passat CC looks good and its a nice looking touring coupe with 4drs. The current Scirocco is really more of VW's sports car. In fact the Scirocco R has more lively handling then the AWD Golf R. VW needs to bring the 2nd generation Scirocco to the US.
