RUMOR: Porsche's Range Rover Evoque Competitor To Get Not ONE But TWO Turbos
Since the recent success of cars like the Audi Q5, BMW X3, MINI Cooper Countryman -- soon to enter the picture "Paceman" -- and Range Rover Evoque, it seems like manufacturers are getting their ducks in a row to launch even more competitive offerings that push the limit.

Next up is Porsche with its smaller sport-utility vehicle in the lineup, known as the Macan -- initially called the Cajun. Though word on the street suggests that the Macan will offer a small displacement 2.0-liter akin to the Audi Q5, the latest news hitting the wires is saying that the Macan will benefit from a properly sporting twin-turbo set up.

If it didn't feature a turbo model, it wouldn't be a proper Porsche, would it?

That being said, early rumors say it will feature a 370 plus horsepower six cylinder that will also churn out around 400 lb.-ft. of torque.

Assuming that the Macan will integrate lessons learned from the big-boy Cayenne SUV, it certainly looks like the Macan will be most sporting SUV out of the entry-level premium class.

Porsche is set to crown its upcoming Macan line-up with a fiery 370bhp-plus Turbo-badged range-topper that will establish a new performance 4x4 niche when it hits UK showrooms in October next year.

...Developed in-house at Porsche’s R&D centre in Weissach, Germany, the twin-turbo V6 is understood to have a 90deg vee and a capacity of 3.0 litres. It is believed to be a variant of the 3.6-litre V6 that powers entry-level Cayenne and Panamera models.

Peak power and torque are said to be in the region of 370bhp and 400lb ft thanks to twin sequential Borg Warner turbochargers, an air-to-air intercooler system and other internal modifications, including a lower compression ratio than that of the normally aspirated 3.6-litre engine. That’s an increase of about 80bhp and 105lb ft over the non-turbo 3.6...

rendering is lame, hope it looks better than this, Evoque isn't worth the money, nor is the Q5

Porsche employs 2 V6 engines: the better one is based off of the V8 that powers the Panamera, and is used in the V6 Panamera; the one in the Cayenne borrowers from VW and is the same one used for the hybrid Cayenne as well.

I assume that we'll see the better Panamera variant versus the V6 borrowed from VW/Audi.

The hybrid V6 is actually an Audi engine, and there is nothing wrong with it, it is rated for 333 horsepower but perfroms much stronger, it is likely underrated from the factory by a good amount. The base Cayenne uses a VW VR6 engine as used in the Touareg, nothing wrong with that engine either.
