VIDEO: There She Goes! The FIRST Lamborghini Aventador Goes Up In Smoke
And to think we JUST ran a top story last night asking which sports cars with a reputation are a problem to own long-term.

According to various reports, a feller on a test drive with a dealership -- possibly Lamborghini's -- LP700-4 "Aventador" had some misfortune. The Aventador caught fire and burned to the ground on the side of a SoCal state highway.

Folks familiar with the incident claim the fire started near the driver's side rear tire.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.

Lamborghini Aventador on fire on the CA 73 S. No one was injured. Dealership owns the car, and it was out on a test drive when spontaneously the rear (around the DR tire) came on fire.

Lamborghini is still figuring out what happened.

So are Porsches (the top-end versions) the only uber-reliable supercars out there?

Well, like every mfr. Porsche has its recalls but it appears that they're the ones to beat at this stage.

I'd guess that Porsche's reliability is not a point of discussion, it's a reality.
In other hand Ferrari and now Lamborghini, are well known for this type of events.
Last but not least, does the version of the car whether if it's a top one, or a base model has something to do with the product overall quality and reliability?

I don't think it particularly matters what "level" model it is. It seems to be a mid-engine issue that flares up; however, front/mid-engined vehicles have it happen too. For example Ferrari 430s, 458s seem to get the worst of it. I've seen an Audi R8 go up, as have Gallardos and Murcies. Now the Aventador.

Hell, even Ferrari's FF and 599 have been seen on fire.

There's no discrimination, baby!

You'll never see a LF-A on fire. Nevermind.

I said Top-End versions as we are talking about "Supercars", I mean a Cayenne or a Boxster isn't a Supercar...
