The 2013 Scion TC... I mean FR-S gets a new body kit to enhance performance.

The tC is Corolla-based, FWD, and Toyota-engined. The FR-S gets its own RWD platform and a Subaru engine (albeit with Toyota's direct fuel injection tech). They are completely different cars. Seriously, if I were you, I would use Subaru's involvement in the FR-S/BRZ project as an excuse to admit that this Toyota is brilliant. You can drop your facade of hate this once. Everyone's been wanting you to for years.

- Does Scion still make the tC? Why can’t a FWD car be replaced with a RWD car? Scion’s small sporty car used to be the tC. It’s now the FR-S. Sorry buddy, but the FR-S is the replacement for the tC. The newer car doesn’t have to follow the old car verbatim in order for it to be considered a replacement. You really need to get a clue.

- Brilliant? Lol! Both Subaru and Toyota watered down the FR-S. The FR-S is slower than the Celica GT from 2000 LOL!. And that’s what you call “Brilliant”? I guess you call anything with a Toyota badge on it “Brilliant”.

“You can drop your facade of hate this once. Everyone's been wanting you to for years.”

- When they start building cars that aren’t worth hating, then I won’t hate on them. But when they release appliance after appliance, and then some tepid, slow “sports” car that can’t even beat out its own run-of-the-mill family sedan. I’m sorry but I’m going to call them out. Its not my fault that you are a fan of such a lame brand.

The FR-S doesn't replace the tC. They don't compete with each other because while the FR-S is sporty, entertaining and less practical, the tC is larger, cheaper, not actually sporty at all, and capable of seating five comfortably.

And the Celica, faster? I find that hard to believe. Whereas it had 180hp and 133 lb-ft in its quicker GT-S configuration, the FR-S has 200 hp and 155 lb-ft. (I looked on several sites but none had conclusive 0-60 times for the FR-S, although the slowest estimates were at 6.2 seconds, which beats the GT-S's 6.6.)

And I'm not a Toyota fan. I am an FR-S fan. The rest of Scion's lineup is boring rubbish, as is Toyota's and most of Lexus's. Just clearing that up for you.

- Didn't motortrend, edmunds or someone clock the 0-60 time at 7.3 seconds? Why is it that the only time a Toyota has competitive numbers is before it’s actually tested?

Huh... okay, the Celica GT-S had a faster 0-60 time... but that doesn't mean it's also less entertaining. The thing was FWD! And plus, the BRZ's weak acceleration is partially due to its low-grip Prius tires, which are there to allow drifts even at legal speeds. Which is awesome. If you wanted to drag a BRZ, you'd change the tires and see a second disappear off its 0-60 time.
