Huh? Lexus Says It's New Grille Will Define The Brand As Well As The Twin Kidneys Do For BMW
If you saw a car with a double-kidney grille in your rearview mirror, chances are you would immediately recognize that car as a BMW.

But would you know you were looking at a Lexus if you saw its grille? Not exactly memorable, let alone iconic. Indeed, Lexus has long been criticized as a dowdy brand in need of a fresh face.

Now, as part of its biggest makeover in years, one that is more than sheet metal-deep, Lexus is rolling out what executives hope will be a breakthrough look: the Lexus "spindle grille."

They won't leave it alone long enough to be at the level of the kidney grills of BMW. Heck, Infiniti isn't that far off the same grill design, theirs may evolve into what Lexus's new grills look like...

These stupid executives, this "spindle grill" is NOT offered on all types of the SAME model, i.e. the regular GS350 doesn't have it or not clearly visible, only the F sport models have it clear. The same goes to the RX and probably other models to come out.

So all Lexi will then have a similarly ugly front end? oh well :-( And here I was hoping that it was just a fad that would quickly face away into obscurity.

Very dangerous copy , paste determination , first this is not elegant , second this is not proper for all theirs car design, and when you do that , this mean that all models you make for this brand have to be limited to this front design so be careful because Lexus is not Mercedes and BMW , they have heritage, prestigues , originality and BRAIN , no others have that, this is and example Lexus grill is not far taken from Audi so let see what happens and for how long they gonna use this tacky thing on the front of theirs cars.

Watch Youtube Motorweek CT200h by Fox Marketing. Lexus paid Fox to customize the new CT200h and he came up with the ideal for the lower part of the gille and side sills. Toyota, give credit where credit is due. I believe i saw this episode two years ago. The grilles are the same on Fox concept and current Lexus.

The grille looks worst than Acura Plenum Grill. This looks like somebody who got their jaw punched and knocked out with a fat lower lip, ugh. Lexus stop the insanity. Lexus is sooooooo scared of Hyundai that they are trying anything cus Hyundai is on the hunt for Lexus.

Modern original lines, iconic, good looks, complements brand logo.

I am in favor of manufacturers keeping signature designs like grille, side mirrors, shapes of LED stripes...etc for 2 generations and then come up with something new.

I don't understand why they dont align the grille with the headlights... it never looks right... The new ES is a great example of how bad it was thrown on... It terrible... It doesnt take someone special to see how odd it looks...

The Lexless new icon looks like a sand hourglass timer. How stupid and contrived.

Time is running out for Lexless.

The new Lexus grill is perfection in the making. And will be more recognizable worldwide than BMW's Kidney grill. Watch this space.

Lexless should have chosen the 'question mark' as their esteemed grill shape.

Actually, the Lexless grill shape resembles the cow catcher on a 19th century steam locomotive.
Talk about retro design!
