Amazing stuff, isn't it? Some people allege that their Toyotas suddenly and uncontrollably accelerated and caused accidents. The media reports it as though it was true. Masses of people believe it, and don't want to buy used Toyotas, thereby driving the resale value south.

Meanwhile, Crime Scene Investigators (CSIs), numerous government inquisitions, and even NASA couldn't find an actual defect that actually caused the alleged run-away cars.

To recap: Lots of stupid people believed stuff that wasn't true, and altered their purchasing behavior, and we must conclude that this is Toyota's fault. That's what this dismissed claim would have us believe.

Fortunately, some judges saw the stupidity of this claim and dismissed it.

I wonder if this means owners of Ford, GM, or Chryslers might sue them for their horrible resale due to their 'defects' (horrible reliability. . . maybe even MB too)???
