Drop-Top Supercar SHOWDOWN: The ODD Man Out - Is That GOOD or BAD In This Situation?
When you're the misfit it's not exactly the most rewarding feeling. You're heckled, jeered and given the cold shoulder. Now I am not exactly saying that's the case with the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster; however, in this supercar showdown, it's definitely a peculiar third wheel.

As you can see, Autobild placed the Audi R8 GT Spyder, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Performante and Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster together to compare stats.

Here's where things get interesting though. Given the Audi and Lamborghini's lightweight credentials and sacrifices in order to provide a more performance-oriented ride, they don't beat out the Mercedes in their zero to 60 times or quarter-mile test.

In addition, the Benz is more than 10 percent cheaper -- in Euros -- than the Lamborghini and more than 10,000 Euros cheaper than the R8 GT.

I wonder if these results would change if we were to put the two mid-engined spyders and front-engined SLS on a track? I am going to go with yes.

All things considered, WHICH drop-top supercar would you fancy?

Since the majority of my commutes and weekend drives do not involve tracks, I'll take the SLS hands down

The SLS is still a capable track car as most reviews have pointed out. A very capable track car.
