This is the car you've been waiting for. Literally.

After being told it would be here soon, BMW North America eventually put it on hold, indefinitely. Folks on AutoSpies and the forums balked and were frustrated.

And in short order, it seems that BMW righted the wrong.

Now the X1 is on its way.

Having made its first auto show appearance at the 2012 New York Auto Show, we're happy to bring you these latest spy shots of the X1 35i xLine and Sport Line models on the ground in the good 'ol US of A.

That said, you've finally got what you wanted.

So, when are you placing YOUR order? And, how are you spec'ing it?

No, I'm most certainly not. The thing is a 3-series wagon with less cargo space and worse handling.

Is it true that it comes with FWD?

Wrong!

RWD or AWD.

Ummm, that looks terrible. I don't like the Rav-4, with or without the kidney grilles.

the X1 had been selling in canada for the past year, its now become their cut-rate/least expensive loaner car for the service departments, at least here in vancouver..... i just looked at one this weekend, their May promotion has an agressive lease rate (1.9%), and higher than normal residuals...

it comes in Xdrive only in Canada, not sure if a rear drive only version would be available... the car is several grand cheaper than a new 3 series with the same engine (328i), you get xDrive and a smaller cabin for the X1 though.

The 328i serves as the service loaner here at some dealers in the states.

It doesn't mean anything as it's still the highest volume product in the lineup.

because BMW is actually out there doing something. Why dont you write articles for auto spies with any other news besides BMW? Or you could just sit around and complain and do nothing about like most lazy people.
