STUD OR DUD? Porsche Macan Slips Out From Under The Covers
These are the very first images of the all-new Porsche Macan ahead of its launch next year. Based on the same platform as the Audi Q5, the Macan is a a smaller and more fuel efficient SUV positioned below the Porsche Cayenne in both price and size.

These images show that the Macan will look much like a shrunken Cayenne, but with a far lower and more curved roofline. There’s the same sculpted body, with elongated headlamps integrated into sculpted wheelarches, while the rear end has been covered up with stickers to obscure the detailing. There’s the same LED strip beneath the headlamps and the same intake as the Cayenne, too.

Abomination of the Porsche badge! Its a shame, but at the end of the day, if it will lead to profitability and cash for future development, then its all good...

It's an improvement over the Cayenne, so between the 2, this is definitely the lesser of the 2 evils.

Looks better then the Cayan and Panamera. It's certainly more rounded and Porsche Like. As an SUV it doesn't look bad. As a vehicle in general it's a bit of a blob.However this is an SUV. In my opinion there are but a handful of SUV's on the market that are what you would call semi attractive.LandRover Evoque, Maserati Kubang etc. Nothing in the form from BMW,Mercedes,Audi makes the semi attractive list.This Porsche falls in the same group. It's not ugly, it's not semi attractive, it's just an SUV.When it comes to attractiveness the vehicles that fall under that catagory are 4dr sedans,4dr coupes,2 dr coupes, some midengine cars, and convertables. SUV's, CUV's etc. are ulitarian boxes who'es main purpose is hailing things and people while supposedly taking up less space then a wagon based sedan. Beauty has not and never will be part of the equation.The Macon will do just fine.

The Porsche name and identity is being dilluted and dissolved. The distinction and prestige of owning a P car is rapidly diminishing.

The Porsche company is chasing the almight Deutschmark and in exchange is sacrificing the heritage and exclusivity of the marque.

Porsche is now competing against the Chevy Equinox and the Hyundai Tucson and the Buick Encore. Pitiful and tragic for car enthusiasts.
