European Infiniti G-Series Sedans To Have Mercedes Four Cylinder Powerplants

The all-new Infiniti G-series saloon will be offered with four-cylinder Mercedes diesel and petrol engines right from the start of its launch in 2013.

The new BMW 3-series rival, along with a new Audi A3 rival due in 2015, are key to Nissan’s luxury arm realising its ambitious growth targets in Europe.

Damn !!!

That would definitely be a game changer.

I have always liked the Infinity G-Series, if they offer the same high spec that they offer in the USA, with Diesel 4cyl at a lower price to the German 3 they would sell lots of cars.

I know i would recommend them to friends.

I don't know if it's a good idea to share platforms with MB. MBs aren't all that sporty like BMWs generally are. I think it might hurt Infiniti from a performance point of view.

Um, you do know that a suspension can tuned, right? Who cares if Infiniti uses a Mercedes' platform. The platform can be tuned and engineered to suite the sporty character of an Infiniti. It's not an issue.

Im sorry, I was under the impression the article alluded to "ENGINE SHARING"

Could you please point out to me where there is an article on "Platform Sharing" between Infinity and MB ?
