Germans Extend Their Lead In The Luxury Car Race - Is It FINALLY Game Over For The Competition?

As Germany's luxury carmakers battle among themselves for global leadership, they have widened their lead in the U.S. over other premium brands that have been left to breathe their fumes.

BMW and Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz are the top sellers of luxury cars in the U.S., while Volkswagen's Audi brand is growing fast and aims to boost its U.S. sales by more than 50 percent in six years.

The Japanese premium brands, hurt by last year's output disruptions in Japan, a strong currency and too many unexciting models, are solidly in second place.

"zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.............Hey LexSux, if the US isn't so important why are there so many articles about that market?"

- I never said that it wasn't important. Stop putting words in my mouth. My argument was that you believe that anything outside of America isn't important. You know "Self Centered"?

But I understand that view. Americans live in their own bubble in which the rest of the planet isn’t relevant. You’ve already admitted that you subscribe to that ideology. Enjoy.

Can you show me where I said that the U.S market wasn't important? I can show you where you confirmed that all that matters is the U.S. Which is my original point BTW. As for the U.S being the most important? This exchange wasn’t ever about that. Stop trying to switch it up. You have no argument.

The issue was that you don’t want to acknowledge, that any other place is of importance other than America. Even now (as before) you refuse to acknowledge anything other than America. You’re a typical American that’s incapable of acknowledging that the rest of the world is also of importance. Question? (And I know that you won’t answer) Are there any other places on the planet of importance other than America?

And what's up with the name calling? You're coming across as some adolescent that got their feelings hurt. Do you always attack and call people names who don’t agree with you? Or do you only do that after you’ve been made to look like a fool? You need to grow up and stop taking this so personal.

So you're relying on other fools to justify your position? You and the people who agree with you are idiots.

Funny how you still refuse to acknowledge that they're other areas of importance other than America. Can we keep on subject? Oh I forgot... You don't have anything so you try and make it 100% personal. You don't think that people can see that? You're brain must be the size of a pea. This is too easy.

China will continue to be the most important market especially for luxury car makers and even more important for the German ubermakes (Audi, BMW, MB). That does not mean that North America and Europe will not play a pivotal role for them. Currently, emerging markets, USA, and China are driving growth for the ubermakes.

If Honda, Toyota and Nissan keep building ho hum dull cars with little soul or excitement, expect the Germans to run away with the market.

The Asians lack imagination and genuine creativity. They have always been about 2nd rate imitation.
