VIDEO: BMW's Zagato Coupe Brings The Bavarians Back To The Age Of Coachbuilding
As you may have found out by now, BMW recently debuted the Zagato Coupe at this year's Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance at Lake Como, Italy. In recent years the vintage show has turned modern with vehicles from a variety of manufacturers debuting futuristic concepts.

This year BMW brought forward a Z4 that was turned into a one-of-a-kind creation by way of a collaboration between BMW and Zagato.

In fact, if you take a close look at some of the design characteristics, you'll notice a likeness to recent Zagatos, like the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale, or Zagato Aston Martin DBA 1 Coupe.

To see what it was like behind the scenes and for more photos of the stunning hand-built BMW, take a look below.

The Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este will once again host a spectacular world premiere in 2012 and, in so doing, build on its tradition as a gathering of the industry's leading coachbuilders. The premiere in question will see the time-honoured Milanese coachbuilder Zagato team up with BMW to unveil the result of a unique collaboration: the BMW Zagato Coupé.

Looks really good but I have to say I see a lot of Aston Martin influence in the design, not that this is a bad thing.

Nice but nothing extraordinary. I like the greenhouse portion of the car, especially the rear window and the line up with the rear quarter window, but the rest is pretty generic. I agree with freeagent, use some of the ideas around the greenhouse to produce a coupe version of the Z4.
