If YOU Were In Charge Of Buick, What Would You Do To Bring Them Back To The Glory Days?
Buick, the storied General Motors brand that had been staging a strong comeback since barely surviving GM's 2009 restructuring, has hit a pothole.

Buick sales have dropped for seven straight months, tied with Cadillac for the longest losing streak among the 41 brands sold in the United States. But unlike Cadillac, which has two new nameplates coming this summer, Buick doesn't have new or redesigned vehicles riding to the rescue.

GTFOH! Post another BMW article if this is a slow news day. No need to bash for your own entertainment purposes...

I know, post a pic of a BMW door handle and talk about how they have revolutionized luxury performance because of it. Isn't that how you guys in charge of this site roll?

*rolls eyes, closes browser, and gets on Twitter where the leaders in automotive news are*

You need to offer some REAR WHEEL DRIVE Cars. Thats a no brainer.

Oh Please... Buick is doing quite well, and all you're doing here 009 is trying to spread more of you anti-American manufacturer FUD.

They need a true GS model that has something. I had a 1970 Buick GS455 Stage 1. Very few people knew what the Stage 1 meant, but I can tell you that car was a true sleeper monster. Looked like Grandma's go to the store Skylark, but that thing was mean.

Of course, gas mileage sucked. I got about 11 MPG no matter how I drove it. On the other hand, gas was about $.35 per gallon for premium (leaded of course). And how I drove it was foot to the floor quite often, because it was so much fun! Had torque like a diesel, with big block horsepower.

Need to offer more performance in the Regal for the price they are asking.

something that doesn't take lmost 300hp just to barely get 0-60 in just under 7 sec. BMW's bigger, heavier 528i with 240hp ( bigger and quite a bit less hp than the regal GS) is faster and has better fuel economy, and its not FWD. Base it on the G8/Holden Monaro chassis with an LS6 for starters. Then a bigger sedan based on a stretched version and a smaller RWD version, and keep the verano as it is with a turbo charged 2.0 ecotec from the solstice for a GS version.

Let GS be their performance line. The engine in the vurrent regal GS would be great to make a Verano GS. A mid size and full sized LeSabre could be based on the Holden Comodore with the 3.6 v6 and LS6, and the supercharged LS6 for GS. Make a two door Regal (Holden monaro) with the 3.6, an 6.2l N/A V8 for the GS and a GNX with a turbo charged 3.6 DI v6 with about 450-500hp to pay homage to the original GNX. That would put buick back to where it was albeit with a better quality interior.

There are no glory days. Only unsafe, Earth-killing junk that is all Buick ever built. As others have said, the old retards that buy them need to die with this brand of car. Junk Junk Junk!!!

Wouldn't you really want to drive a BMW or Audi or MB?

Buick owners are the people you see driving 20 mph under the speed limit in the left hand lane with their left hand directional blinking.

The truth is that I do notice their new cars and they are nice...but in my mind Buick is something you drive before you die...not sure that I have a desire to be a member of that brand till im 90...its a tough call but its always positioned itself as the "golden years" car...they did have the Grand National which was cool, but it long forgotten.

If I was in charge of Buick I'd send all the union workers home and let them feel what its like to be unemployed, then I'd hire market rate, if Obama would send his goons to socialize my plant I'd move it to Mexico, make cars at 1/2 the cost, sell for 1/2 the price...ohh and BTW shitcan the buick name and give it a cool new name.
