Even With Nissan Profits up 4% This Still Represents a 26% Slide in Projections

Nissan Motor Co. (7201.T: Quote, Profile, Research), Japan's second-biggest car maker, posted a 26 percent drop in quarterly operating profit on Tuesday as an empty product pipeline caused a global sales slump.
Nissan, 44 percent owned by Renault SA (RENA.PA: Quote, Profile, Research), posted April-June operating profit of 153.35 billion yen ($1.31 billion), compared with 206.26 billion yen a year ago and a mean forecast of 172.88 billion yen compiled from a survey of six brokerages by Reuters Estimates.
