STUD OR DUD? Second Gen Porsche Cayman Caught In The Nude
The second-generation Porsche Cayman is deep into its development programme ahead of a planned unveiling at the Los Angeles motor show in November. This test prototype captured by our photographers showed almost 90,000 miles on its odometer.

The mid-engined two-seater gets the same lightweight aluminium body, roomier cabin and upgraded six-cylinder engines as its sister car, the new third-generation Boxster.

Stud, they should make the back exactly like a 991.

one of my favorite cars out there; i've never LOVED the styling like i have on other porsches like the panamera, 928, 911, and 968 (my favorite). but it has the balance, power, and weight that are perfect for a sports car that gets regular use.

if they clean up the rear, where the taillights meet the rear hatch, it will be a real stunner. i almost think they deliberately keep the styling wonky in order to have ANOTHER attribute inferior to the 911.

its great, regardless.

May end up being better looking than the 911

Not completely nude, but gettin' close. I like how they have a better taper to the rear section of the roof. Previous gen roof dropped off too abruptly.

Is it me? or does the front end look very "ferrari-esque"? If they can clean up the rear end, it could be a stunner.

See one Porsche, youve seen them all.

The Cayman doesn't look like fish or fowl. Does not possess the key Porsche look, elegance or shape. Actually, it is quite stodgy and clumsy looking.
I am surprised Porsche would make such a misstep with this less than optimal design.

Even the name Cayman is a terrible choice. It just sounds like a cheap dish on a restaurant menu. Not automotive in the least. Sounds like it would smell awful after a day.
