WHY On Earth Would YOU Want A Daily Driver Chevrolet Corvette When The Cadillac CTS-V Exists?
This is something that has been stewing in my brain for quite sometime. Probably after I drove a couple of Cadillac CTS-Vs and then had various Corvettes, like the ZR1, Z06 and Grand Sport, I simply wondered:

Why would you want to daily drive a Corvette when a car that's as good as the CTS-V exists?

Yes, I know it's a comparison of apples and oranges as the CTS-V is not a sports car in the same respect as the 'Vette is; however, it does excel where the Corvette's fun ends.

The most commonly complained about Corvette attributes are where the V shines. The Corvette is always rocked for having a lousy interior, poor seats, a rough ride and a navigation system that looks like it's from the 1990s.

Meanwhile the V is typically optioned with those amply bolstered Recaros, has one of the nicest interiors in ANY General Motors product ever -- granted, that's not saying much --, can drive over pothole-ridden streets and fit a couple of extra passengers.

That said, I just don't get it. Can ANYONE make me a believer?

I mean, I know if I was going to the track or I wanted to do 200 foot burnouts, I'd pick the Corvette. But in this rat race we call life, that's NOT typically part of the daily routine...

1. Clutch in, select 1st gear. 2. Throttle down until the tachometer stops moving. 3. Sidestep clutch. Longest stripe wins.

Instead of being a SOUR individual, contribute something.

It's a legitimate question when talking DAILY DRIVERS.

I agree. I don't even understand why you are comparing the two. Some people daily drive a lot of different things and it just depends on the compromises you want to make. Only one is a sportscar.

*taps you on the shoulder* Um... the CTS-V coupe is a sports coupe, therefore a sports "car". That comment was baseless. The Corvette is a DIFFERENT type of sports car but they are both "sports cars". Ultimately, it wasnt stupid and it was a legitimate question that probably boils down to personal preference, needs, and/or performance.

Trust me, I believe the Agents around here are from Pluto 99.5% of the time but I have to back 00R up on this one.

Because the CTS-V looks like ass!

While everyone will think you're either a "redneck" or a balding, overweight and less than 11 yrs away from qualifying for Social Security disbursements, the Vette is still a very capable sports car. Even in stock trim, the vette can destroy many vehicles of axis heritage.

I wouldn't say the V looks like ass; however, I would agree the 'Vette is a helluva sports car 1) for the dollars 2) period.

The CTS-V looks clunky and unfinished. While I applauded the Art and Science design language of the original CTS and STS, GM has gone nowhere with the design language. To me, the present day CTS just screams: look at me, I have this supercharger and I can out Germaned the Germans.

Clunky and unfinished? I'm sure you have a better range of vocabulary than that. What looks so "clunky and unfinished" about it? Is it the fact that it looks like nothing you're used to on the road? In my opinion, the coupes styling is too polarizing. The rear end looks like its the same height as the entire car. Its not my cup of tea in motion but it certainly looks badass while parked. And you honestly like the original CTS better than this one? The look of this one is far more refined.

I don't even know why I'm commenting. The CTS-V Sports wagon is my preference out of the three. *Kanye shrug*

Because the base Vette is a lot less expensive, especially with the $10k discounts from the volume Corvette dealers. The other reason is when you park both cars side by side, the corvette roof is about the same height as the CTS's side mirrors - the Vette looks low and impressive

Corvette has better gas mileage, way bigger trunk, and you never have to volunteer your car when the gang goes to lunch because of the two seater. I drive a corvette as a daily driver and it is comfortable.

I have a CTS Coupe 3.6 AWD and it is the best daily driver I have ever owned. I get compliments ALL the time because NEWSFLASH not everyone in the USA is a Euro Snob! IT ia a great looking and even better driving car. The Corvette in bad weather not so much and it has a smaller trunk then the CTS FYI and the CTS can fold down the back seats like an SUV for even more roomy goodness. Also the CTS-V has better Brembo brakes and more luxury ten the recalcitrant plastic car from Chevy that is not really much cheaper if you don't get the ase model.

These car wash jockeys and parking lot attendants who make these videos really abuse the cars.
Imagine what happens to your car when you give them the keys at your dining restaurant or show.

I'd take the CTS-V, the Vette is way too cheaply made to compare to this, come to think of it, its actually sad when your premier sports/super car has a worse interior than your volume leading family sedan. The seats suck compared to the CTS-V and its so cheaply made and it shows. The CTS-V is proof America can build a high performance car that is well built as well. Hopefully this new Vette will be much beter built and have its own steering wheel instead of one borrowed from one of their compact cars.
