BMW Shifts Future Fuel Cell Cooperation From GM To Toyota

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG ended talks with General Motors Co. to cooperate on fuel cells to power future vehicles, with the world’s largest maker of luxury autos poised to expand its partnership with Toyota Motor Corp.

“We are still talking to GM, but no longer on the topic of fuel cells,” Alexander Bilgeri, a spokesman for the Munich- based carmaker, said today by phone.

BMW and Toyota are set to expand their cooperation to fuel cells and components for electric-powered cars, said a person familiar with the situation who declined to be identified ahead of an official announcement. I'm sure since Toyota has such a Huge line of vehicles that appeal to the mast majority, they have a lots of experience predicting current & future vehicle fuel usage (gas, alternative, electric hybrid etc) through their consumer feedback data rescources. Also, them (BMW) shifting from GM who still has many quality issues/quality control, is a better investment because Toyota is top when it comes to there overall record, Hybrid Technology and Fuel Cell Technology. Dont forget Toyota owns like 40% or more of Panasonic's Hybrid battery Mfg & technology business. So for u so called Toyota & Lexus haters out there. There is a lot more to The Toyota Motor Corp than the eye meets. For those loyal consumers and new comers who give them their due kudos, stick to your guns because they will really shine as we head more and more into the future.
