Road And Track Magazine Reportedly Dismisses Most Of Staff
When Hearst bought Car And Driver and Road & Track it became clear that at some point the be-ampersanded buff books would have to be streamlined to make more money for the company. Then, earlier this year, they announced the plan was to move the California-based R&T to Ann Arbor to be closer to its bros. That was only part one. Part two has been revealed and it involves basically firing everyone.

It's funny this article pops up, I was just at the dentist and my 5-year old son noticed I was reading a car magazine that he's never seen as it is one I don't subscribe to. He asked me about it and I commented that I thought it was a waste of paper.

why would anyone still pay for paper formatted car news when there is the web... besides, all it does is fill up landfills after being read or collect dust on the coffee table...

I've been reading C&D, as well as R&T for most of the last 40 years.Both publications have been declining for the last 20, sad. I used to stack 'em up for months beside my favorite chair, constantly referring to interesting articles. Nowadays I spend 30 minutes on a new issue and toss it into the recycle bin.
