BMW Hopes To Commandeer Dutch Mitsubishi Plant To Build Cars

BMW is considering building vehicles at the endangered NedCar plant in the Netherlands that belongs to Japan's Mitsubishi Motors, a BMW spokesman said.

"We're in talks with NedCar over a third party manufacturing contract," the spokesman said on Wednesday, without giving further details.

Earlier this month, Dutch newspaper Dagblad De Limburger said negotiations were taking place between bus maker VDL Groep and Mitsubishi to build cars for the BMW Group at NedCar, adding that both parties were close to finalizing a deal.
