So, Google Glass. How Much Longer Until We See THIS Tech Integrated Into Windshields?
It goes without saying that at AutoSpies we love technology. And this week was a pretty big one in the space as Google's i/o conference revealed an all-new trick pair of glasses.
It features a camera, a processor and "a lot" of memory. In addition it features wi-fi. Pretty cool, huh? Although I know everyone is talking about the skydiving demo that showed off the potential of this tech, I think we have to focus on the possibility of this type of technology being integrated into your windshield.
Think of it like a head's up display without the obnoxious and clunky dash-mounted screen. Imagine if you didn't have to look down to scroll through your radio stations and it was displayed much bigger and was translucent so you could see the road ahead of you.
One thing's for sure, navigating the streets would be much easier and the possibility of text messaging and shooting emails would be much less difficult if combined with voice technology, like Siri.
But before these advanced technological companies go off into their sheds and start cranking away -- does this sort of stuff seem necessary to you?

Google Glasses Project Glass demo. They hinted at it earlier this year but now Google Glass is a reality.
A few more details emerged from Google's i/o 2012, it has a camera a processor and a lot of memory to store information. It has a touchpad on the side for input, a microphones and a speaker, a gyro, accelerometer and compass. It also has multiple radios for wireless connectivity.
But, it's the skydiving video that showed its true potential, with a group looging on to a Google hangout jumping out of a plane, landing, grabbing a bike and hurtling to join the Googlers on stage.
It was only available for pre-order to developers at the show, and only for those from the US. It costs $1,500, and will be shipping early next year.
