The only new 3 series out is the 328, and 335 rwd. They still have to introduce the awd along with the new coupe, and convertible.

Well then you just contradicted your own argument, since the C-class uses an even smaller, less powerful, and less fuel efficient 4-cyl in the entry level C-class.

there are TWO new models of a car that has well over a dozen variants. only the 328 and 335 rwd models are new. the awd sedans, the wagon, the coupes and the convertibles are all in their last model year. newsflash: cars in their last model year generally see declining sales. duh.

BD: you're using numbers for the WHOLE RANGE of 3-series cars. so how can you be talking just about sedans?

The more BMW tries to compete with Toyota et all the more they will move to mediocrity. Just check out the trunk hinges on the new 5 series vs every 5 series previous to this one and you see where they are going. Another think I really used to like was that even the pedestrian models of BMWs handled better than the sport models of most other companies. Now the pedestrian models... well handle like pedestrian models. Car's like the M5 have gone off the deep end in some respects as well. Loved my 2000 M5 and the E60 was also still there, but the new one does not grab me like an M car should. Seems too caught up in electronics and not enough attention to making it right in the first place then adding the electronics.

Low 7 series numbers could be due to the fact the refresh goes on sale in July.

I think this is the main reason.

"Demand is strong though we've been constrained by new model ramp up but supply will soon catch up in the second half of the year."

My friend at BMW dealer told me that BMW has been significantly increasing their line up without increasing nearly enough of it's total production supply to match these new models. This results a longer ordering period and slow sales for newly launched models. This happened to the f10 5 series, and F25 X3 and now the F30 3 series.
