New GM Models For 2007

Here are the news that you will only read on AutoSpies. Pontiac will bring the Wave, a rebadge of the Chevrolet Aveo. It is already sold in Canada.

Chevrolet will also sell the Optra, the U.S. Suzuki Forenza, already sold in Canada.

I discovered this while looking at the 2007 EPA fuel ratings on fueleconomy.gov, so it is official.

You can see it for yourself. Go to this link. Choose the year 2007, go to Chevrolet and you will see the Optra along Optra 5 and the Optra Wagon. To see the Pontiac, go to 2007, select Pontiac and you will see the Wave and Wave 5.

Smaller cars (the really small ones) usually are built on smaller budgets. Also in very small cars it is hard to get the correct proportions, ie you can't shrink the CLS and still look good. Also, when they go for interior space and build them very tall but narrow and short they look bad. The newer Aero looks better (not sold in North America yet) but it got very horrible European crash test score.

small cars don't have to be ugly. Look at the mini or the VW Polo. The new Fiat Punto is also beautiful

There are some good ones, but the majority are ugly, especially the cheapest ones. The Aveo/Wave is basically an old Daewoo that has been rebadged twice already.

Chewy, why is this a for sure that the US will get the 2007 Wave and Optra? Did you happen to look in the 2006 (and 2005, and 2004) section of the EPA site? There are FE ratings for the Wave and Optra in that model year as well... don't expect these models in the US for 2007.
