This two car line up is going to set sales records for the ES series. With 4 more inches of rear seat room and better driving dynamics it will cut into E-350 and 5 series sales......

so what you're saying is that people buy the E-class and 5-series for REAR LEGROOM. definitely. you're totally right.

Not exactly a strong insult. Porsche uses big overhangs too, they must be crap like Lexus is apparently.

40mpg sounds good. Prefer 50+ in the smaller cars.

"it will cut into E-350 and 5 series sales" Dude get back down to reality, this supped up CAMRY does not compete in the same league. You don't even know your customers, try the Nissan Maxima, Toyota Avalon and maybe A4, C-Class and 3-Series. 66% percent of ES-350 buyers are upgrading from TOYOTA cars.
You are basically saying that my LS competes against an A6 and 5- Series which they DON'T!

yes, that's quite funny. a sub $40k car that's a gussied up toyota is going to cut into sales of my $67,000 5-series. the average buyers for these cars are nearly 20 years apart in age.

...Yes USNA1999, And u basically have some very bad understanding. The ES350 does indeed compete w/ E350 up to a certain point. The LS460 is above the A6 & 5-Series...Get your head out of your _____! Have u looked at the trouble index of your beloved A6,5-Series, C-Class & 3-Series lately? That's just the begining of horrors!

lexworld keep dreaming and selling cars for a living! Please show me any articles comparing (head to head) any E350, A6 or 5 series with a LEXUS ES350. They are not in the same league, keep dreaming. The GS, yes not the ES. Obviously the trouble index doesn't affect sales. By the way, are my front brakes and rotors there since LEXUS had to replace them twice?

By the way, any car can compete against any model "up to a certain point". Quality education you have. LoL!

Lexus designs as of late are horrid. I think BMW's are the best looking premium brand on the market now. Mercedes is a little in between and Audi's are still conservatively nice.

it's true. this is THE car for a 60-something who longs for the old days of 1980s cadillacs and lincolns. smooth, quiet, a great value, and you can completely forget that you're driving! holy barcalounger!

Cant wait to see how the next Lacrosse turns out. Like it or not, saleswise and overall vehicle package wise, on paper, the Lexus ES and the Lacrosse are each others biggest competitors.

Badgewhore2 how old are you? 12? Grow up, I am not whinning about how unreliable my car has been, I am just stating the fact that LEXUS is NOT bullet proof. Since I purchased in 2008 (2009 model) the car had a series of problems just like my previous cars (MB C230, Honda Accord & Civic, Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Celica and some more). ALL CARS HAVE ISSUES, can you understand this? Obviously the reliability excuse can be stretched out so far, just look at MBs and BMWS sales numbers for this year and lasts.
BTW Why don't I get rid of the car? Because it has been PAID for. How many people can say that out of a 2009 $58K car?
Is TOYOTA/LEXUS paying you? Why don't you act more professional and with some class. I am ashamed that you are a LEXUS owner. Isn't that what you are trying to reflect joining the entry luxury market with an ES-350? "No body wants an AUDI", just look at the sales for the past year here in the US and if you want big numbers, check them worldwide.
Geesh, what an imbecile!

In regards to long front overhang, I think Audi/VW are the king of those with their front wheel drive large sedan/saloons.
e.g. VW passat, Phaeton, Audi A4/A6 etc..
