The EAGLE Has Landed - 2013 Audi RS5s Have Arrived - Have YOU Spotted It In The Wild?
Guess what, folks?

The all-new Audi RS5 has actually made it to U.S. shores for the first time. Even more exciting is that owners have started taking delivery.

Now the fun begins: Have YOU seen one in the wild?

I spotted a 2013 Audi RS5 at Lime Rock Park at the ALMS Northeast Grand Prix only weeks ago.

If you do, make sure to send pics to mobile@autospies.com to get your image posted on AutoSpies Live!

Proof in pictures... The first few Audi RS 5 models have officially landed here in the States! Have you seen one in the wild yet?

Carcrazedincali... I absolutely agree... If you know your cars, there are always subtle differences, whether its trim, wheels, interior, etc. On a side note, this is a wholly new model (To the US) so it shouldn't be hard to tell...

The RS5 is new to the US -- plus the A5/S5/RS5 don't look like any other Audi (which can't be said for the other models)

@zoomzoom... And you could tell the difference between the car you drive now, the same model and trim of the prior model year, and the one from the next model year? I'm a little curious as to what you drive that has so obvious changes every year...

As of late, Audi, exteriro design wise, has done nothing to really excite as of late. I have to hand it to Benz, while every design as of late is not always perfect, its atleast different and much bolder than Audi/BMW

I don't like the way Benz is going with their design, the new SL is awful....never thought I would say that about the SL...

I think Audis are now getting a little homologated and the designs, while appealing, is safe and bland... But again, thats because they do not need to take risks at this moment because they have the sales momentum on their side.

As for Mercs, they are taking a lot more risks, but for a company with such a name, they can design anything and people will still buy it.

RS5 looks like an SUV in the pic with that truck grill.

"sales momentum on their side" = undercutting the comp. with A1 sales.

The question is; How much more will it cost than the competition? While more than likely not performing as well as some of its rivals.

maybe it's just this particular picture, but the RS5 does not look at all like a sports car above. The regular S5 looks more sporty from the front than the RS5 does in this picture. I don't know if it's the pattern in the grill or the grill color or what, but it makes the grill (and subsequently the entire front end) look huge. Enormous. Massive. If the title of this thread had been "new Audi Allroad picture" or "new Audi SUV picture", I'd have looked at the photo and said "ok, sure".

I think it is just the angle of the shot. In person, the car looks brilliant

Its definitely just the picture, because you cannot tell where the lower most part of the car is and where the ground is, so the shadow beneath the car seems to make it appear that the car is higher up than it actually is. Also on the sides too, so it doesnt seem to have such a wide stance.

Audi quality is outstanding but its driving dynamics are not close to being class leaders. Why ? I don't know...they certainly have the engineers and racing heritage to excel in handling but come up short
and numb. If they get their act together there is no telling high up
sales can go.

There have been numerous comparison tests where Audis (A6, A7, A8) placed ahead of comparable BMW and Mercedes. I would say they do have their act together.

"If they get their act together there is no telling high up

Really? Improve the driving dynamics (for track performance, I presume) of which car to increase sales to whom? Because if you're talking about across-the-board "improvements" in dynamics to all Audi cars and don't think you'll lose some sales as result, then you must think that every car buyer (and "buyer" is the operative word, not "blog-posting enthusiast") wants class-leading driving dynamics. If you're talking about the RS5, then you're overestimating the sales potential.

Sorry, but I think improvements in driving dynamics for passenger cars have reached a stage where incremental improvements are mere marketing decisions, not matters of technological know-how nor related to provide real value. Audi trying to beat the class leaders (I assume you're talking about BMW) would be like playing king-of-the-hill, a fool's game. Gobs of money will be thrown at staying on top and the backlash will be significant if you don't. Audi's smart for letting the "class-leaders" duke it out and providing an alternative to the rear-drive dynamics favored by the enthusiasts.
