SPIED: Lexus' IS-F Convertible Snapped Getting A Work Out

Lexus is taking the fight to the upcoming BMW M4 and Audi RS5 with this, the IS-F Convertible.

Until now, the flagship IS-F has been a standalone product, only available as a four-door saloon. But these spy shots show the Japanese car maker is now developing a folding hardtop version, too.

Based on the standard IS-C, Lexus hopes to improve sales by adding a 5.0-litre V8 and eight-speed automatic gearbox. This means that the IS-F Convertible will produce 417bhp and will be capable of a 0-62mph time of around 4.8 seconds. In addition, Lexus will tune the chassis and give the IS-F Convertible bigger brakes and a stiffer suspension setup.

Lamborghini's look more like origami than any Lexus ever would. Just FYI.

Lamborghini exudes sexiness! Lexus exudes ... shit.

Why would this be a waste? I want to see a coupe from Lexus, I want to see an affordable convertable from them. Change is on the horizon for Lexus as it has been needed for a long time now, why hate on that?

Toyota made a ugly car even uglier. Nothing like drawing attention to the IS convertible's ugly fat ass, like bolting on a tacky spoiler.

The IS convertible is really ugly, I hope they changed the roof and rear end and fenders to make them nice. Too bad the ISF suffers from the same looks.
