Are AutoSpies.com And TTAC.com The ONLY Media You Can Trust For The REAL Truth About Cars? The EVIDENCE Says YES!
On Monday, we wrote an article about being suspect of the Cadillac ATS review in C&D.

As you know, you've read MANY articles here telling you about our belief/proof that the major media outlets are 'in the tank' and that there are VERY FEW places you can go on the web that you can REALLY trust for a REAL opinion, from people who ACTUALLY buy their own cars and know what consumers go through.

Well if you don't believe us, read this article from the infamous Jack Baruth and YOU make the call.

Remember we appreciate YOUR support and we tell it like it is because the only people we want to please is YOU.

NOT the auto companies. You have our word on it.

Also, we are NOT picking on Cadillac here. ALL of the mags are 'in the tank' with ALL of the car companies. This is just ONE example of how the game works.

Here's a small snippet and the rest is at the link:

"HEY! Remember when I said the Cadillac ATS was going to be a miserable failure? Guess what? It still IS going to be a miserable failure! But you’d never know it from the glowing reviews on the Web right now, many of which are filled with self-described on-track driving heroics that sound utterly Schumacher-esque until you realize they were done with mandatory save-the-brakes stops every lap and with careful supervision.

Motor Trend’s Scott Evans managed to slip the surly bonds of that supervision long enough to touch his Cadillac’s face to a couple of trees. We challenged GM and Motor Trend to release the black box data and share with the public what really happened."

I couldn't get passed the tacky language used in the review, but am not surprised to hear the reviews by major auto mags (who subscribes to those anymore) are bought and paid for

And I stand by my comments about the new Altima being the MOST disappointing redesign of 2012. Even the new Malibu looks nicer.

The only useful piece of info is that supposedly the journalists had to take a break after every lap to cool the brakes. But then again not too sure how much longer the 3 series or others would last.

Considering that AutoSpies.com predominantly gets their news from 4wheelsnews.com and then puts their biased spin on them, then the EVIDENCE says NO.

We're really here for the entertainment value of it all, and the fact that the spies are so flagrantly full of themselves is evidently amusing if not outright entertaining :p

Well when you are as great as we are, you have the right to be full of yourself! ;)

All we're saying is BEWARE of this and support the websites you feel tell it like it is whether you like the opinion or not.

Maybe I'm missing the point here but I don't see how the edits provided any additional insight to the article at all. This type of juvenile reaction and comment do nothing for me. It's like watching one of those teenage gross our humor movies, a lot of shocking statements but not real humor nor worthy content. At the very least, the writer could have tried to explain WHY he thought the ATS was less than the original writer claimed. All he really did was make fun of the guy for having an accident.

He did all that in a previous article.

My personal opinion is that I like how he was creative in his presentation of this reality in the car business.

It is a REAL black eye for car companies because it REALLY works this way behind the curtain.

Not only is it a shame, but we the customers deserve better.

But let's face it, when there is that much potential dough on the table in our world today VERY FEW have the integrity to say no.

Rehashing and providing an additional forum for that ridiculous JB piece? Ugh, I expect more from 001 (not from any othe double-O's, just 001). Read the comments. JB is being torn a new one.
