SPIED: Top Up, Top Down, BMW's Next-Gen 3-Series Spotted All Around The Town

While the all-new BMW 3-Series has made an appearance as a sedan, its coupe and convertible counterparts are still under development.

We've noticed the all-new 3'er coupe make its transition from being completely embroiled in camouflage to stripping a bit; however, the all-new convertible is still head-to-toe in camouflage. That's OK though.

What we are happy to report is that these images are some of the FIRST that show the next-gen product with its top in the down position. What's also good to see is that when the top is up, it looks remarkably similar to the last-gen top. Granted, I am sure that there is more than meets the eye. I am sure there were some lessons to be learned from that old, folding metal hardtop.

As you say, "supposedly."

The speculation of the changeover to 4-Series has been running around for at LEAST two generations of changes.

When BMW officially calls it the 4-Series, I will too. Until then I am not buying into it.

So a panoramic sunroof a la Mercedes-Benz's SL-Class and SLK-Class, correct?
