If You Ran An Automotive Company What Would Be Your Top Five Essential Brand Values?

If You Ran An Automotive Company What Would Be Your Top Five Essential Brand Values?
I’ve been thinking a lot about the inner workings of car companies of late, to the point of if it were my car company, what would I like the prevailing modus operandi to be? How would I set the tone and tenor of the day-to-day workings of the company so that everyone involved knew exactly what was expected of them and why we were there to begin with?

So following are my Five Essentials to automotive greatness, in this case as it applies to my personal car company - Renzo Motors - a creator of exclusive, bespoke, high-performance sports cars. And if there are a few lessons to be gleaned here for certain automakers currently engaged in the process as well, don’t be surprised.

There are within the constraints of resource, cost and pollution standards, only so many ways to build and automobile. The facts are that now we MUST concentrate on public transport. Clogged hi-ways have resulted in billions of gallons of fuel and productive time wasted.

In these times of economic reawakening, is it wise to put lots of
resource into hi end autos? What is the point?

Perhaps we need good reliable, very efficient autos that show our
ability to sustain rather than showing off in the hi-end arena.

How and where does one use all the power and handling in ordinary driving? Lets say on the East coast. Sure you can go fast in mid and western states with the long boring roads. Most of the population does not find itself in such conditions. No more destroying the Earth for penis size fantasies.

Keep your footprint as small as possible. Telecommute. People who aren't important, or doing important work that requires travel should be born, live and die within a 150 mile radius. This is the clean, bright future we should struggle for!

Good points, however for argument sake see below:

It is the fast growing segment out there. Go for the gold!

Reliability has never been better... Vehicles routinely last well over 100,000 miles with only minor issues.

Power gets you out of trouble (or in to it). But with higher limits it can be a safety factor.

What about global commerce? The lack of exposure to other cultures and philosophies may encourage narrow mindedness in the masses. Propoganda and stereotypes would prevail as truth.

It is the fast growing segment out there. Go for the gold!

--------------------

Im sure there were slave traders in the 1800s who bragged about the growing industry. Just because something is booming doesn't make it morally correct. Killing the Earth is wrong.

-------------------

Reliability has never been better... Vehicles routinely last well over 100,000 miles with only minor issues.

-------------------

This is not, and never has been true in the high-perfromance and luxury segments. Increased complexity and horsepower reduces reliability. Cars for the masses should be very simple, and cause very little component stress. 80 hp is enough to motivate a lightweight, simple car.

----------------------

Power gets you out of trouble (or in to it). But with higher limits it can be a safety factor.

--------------------------

Nonsense. Few drivers have the skill to accelerate out of trouble, and the trade off of people "showing off" with more power is not worth the risk. Children immitate shows like the Dukes of Hazard and Knight Ridder. Shows where massive, heavy, earth-unfriendly cars were centers of attention. This is wrong-thinking for children.

------------------------

What about global commerce? The lack of exposure to other cultures and philosophies may encourage narrow mindedness in the masses. Propoganda and stereotypes would prevail as truth

--------------------------

Global commerce can exist through the internet. Exposure to other cultures can come in schools and social programming. Travel is not nearly as nessecary as people think, and should be limited to those who can justify it to a state committee which will advocate the interest of the environment.

---------------

Nice try, but you are wrong-thinking.
