Welcome To The 2013 S-Class! - Is It Everything You Thought It Would Be?
CAR's spies have exposed the 2012 Mercedes S-class interior, shown here completely unmasked.

It's a chance for a good look at the design direction likely to filter down to other future Mercs, and gives us some clues on the tech fitted to the new S-class.
Is this really the 2013 Merc S-class interior?

You'd better believe it. Immediately you'll spot the move to multiple circular vents rather than the current car's rectangular layout; naturally the vents are chromed and inset in a large slab of wood.

Really?

From what we've seen thus far it just looks like a pretty mild refresh of the same old (Mini-Maybach/W221) version that's been around since 2005.

Classic Benz, would outsell the competition as pictured

What an ugly steering wheel and dash is this?? Is this a Buick or what?
Also the exterior looks the same too.

Yes, the dash looks like one you would find on a 1970's Buick. Those retro air vents have got to go.

Designer 1 you will be very surprised if you looked at the console of a Buick Lacrosse. I think it looks way better than this one from Mercedez.

Too many round holes (4 AC vents and a clock) in the dash. Overall the interior lines are not flowing well unlike the elegant interior of the current S class.

Of course it would be more "Maybach-like" (as one put it up there). Didn't they say they were taking the S-Class further up in class because of Maybach being discontinued? With that being said, idk how to comment. The car looks evolutionary on both its exterior AND interior. Only thing I love is the COMMAND area.

Cant wait for Caddy to show up in this segment!

There is supposed to be an extra long Pullman version replacing the Maybach. The gauge panel loooks terrible, the outisde looks CL curvy which is not bad. Overall the interior looks tobe trying too hard to be Bentley. Once it comes out the overall package is probably going to be alright, possibly aside from the gauges.

The exterior and interior are both all new and the engines have just been updated and aren't lacking for power.

I can't tell if it's everything I thought it would be. Give it to me for a week and I will get back to you. Maybe.
