WHY Do People Feel The Urge To KEY Someone Else's Car & What Would YOU Do If YOUR Car Looked Like THIS?

WHY Do People Feel The Urge To KEY Someone Else's Car & What Would YOU Do If YOUR Car Looked Like THIS?
As I was strolling out of my favorite coffee shop, Cafe Angelique -- you New Yorkers and fellow New Jerseyans know what I'm talking about ;) -- I noticed that the Ford F-150 I had pulled up alongside had a little more roughing up than your standard multi-purpose vehicle.

I was right, well, more than right. This car was jacked up.

Every.Single.Body.Panel. Was keyed beyond belief.

There were marks of varying depth and lines that shot every which way. Clearly the person who did this made this personal and wanted to inflict some SERIOUS damage.

That said, aside from a cheating spouse, I can't think of any reason WHY anyone would do something so heinous.

As seen in Pulp Fiction, you "don't f@$! with another man's vehicle."

According to Vincent Vega, "it's against the rules."

Considering these wise words, what would YOU do if YOUR car looked like our cover image?

I try to park as away from a crowd as possible and remember that attractive cars, mods, custom plates etc. only attract such behavior in larger doses.

Reasons:
1. Crazy/angry ex-girlfriend/boyfriend
2. Vandalism - no different than random acts of destruction like gang graffiti tags, stolen stop signs, breaking windows

What I would do is thank my lucky stars I left that crazy b**!

On a vehicle like an F-150, I can understand it. It vandalizes my lungs and the health of children with asthema. There is no need for private ownership of trucks and large vehicles like this. I live in an urban center and have never needed a car, let alone a truck!

There are plenty of legitimate reasons to own a 1/2 to one ton truck. Farms, construction, numerous employment reasons. My neighbor has one because he tows a 26' boat.

Such blanket statements are nonsense. Just because you have no need for one, doesn't mean others don't either. Besides, a modern F-150 may pollute more than a hybrid but it is still a drop in the bucket of overall air pollution.

That said, there are way too many people that drive big trucks/SUVs that really don't need to. In that regard I will agree.

Farms and construction sites may have a use, and a permit could be granted to allow their operation.

As for your neighbor, unless he is a commercial fisherman it's hard for me to see any need for a 26 foot boat. Sure, he may enjoy running about on the water, polluting with an engine that is even less regulated than a truck. He probably does this to impress his lady friends and get sex as repayment for the thrill ride. But at what cost to others and the Earth?

You need to go away. Really.

Your opinion on cars is completely devoid of merit since you "have never needed a car."

1carsmart1:
You have no need for your polluting and gas guzzling Smart car.
Why don't you stick to a bicycle or public transportation?
On another note, maybe not the bicycle as you would pollute the air with whatever you exhale and fart from exertion more then any F150 truck would.....

You guys are getting way off topic, but other reasons I can think of for getting keyed is parking illegally or like a douche (e.g., taking up two spots), and driving like an a**hole. Of course, there are always those who absolutely hate the successes of others, so high line cars are sometimes targets.
