DRIVEN: So, Audi's S7 A Bit TOO Saucy For You? How's The S8 Sound? Bigger, Faster But Subtle
Being that the A8 is Audi's flagship, you'd expect it's tarted up version to be even that much more flamboyant, outrageous and -- frankly -- awesome.

Considering my first interest in the S8 lineage was started with that infamous chase scene in Ronin, it typically has gotten the job done; however, what about this all-new 2013 offering? As you'll find from an excerpted review, the important and telling bits below, it seems that the S8 is exactly what you'd expect it to be: An exceptional high-speed tourer.

That moves from zero to 60 in just over four seconds. Yowza!

But with all the good, comes the bad. I'll leave that for you to find...

What is it?

The Audi S8 is, curiously, sometimes our favourite A8. I blame Ronin. The S8 is - or rather, in its earliest generations, was - a sports saloon in a package (a big old luxury one) that shouldn’t really have spawned a sports saloon in the first place. That it has always had an aluminium body means that, when it’s good, the S8 has an agility that belies its size...

What is it like?

Good, actually. Alright, totally objectively, not as complete as it could be. Its steering is sticky, its air-springs and damping are multi-adjustable by the driver (as are the engine/gearbox, steering and differential responses, all independently), but it’s hard to find a compromise that suits all occasions. There are better big driver’s cars out there, and more comfortable fast saloons...

Should I buy one?

Well, I suppose it’s probably not for everyone, but if you’re tempted and can afford the bills that come with a car whose list price of £77,900 can easily be lifted to the £107,075 of our test car, then, sure, why the hell not?

The 2013 Audi S8 is a stunning car. Audi ditched the previous model's V10 in favor of the new twin-turbo V8. Acceleration has been improved dramatically.

Audi was never looking to design a BMW M7, or a Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG when they designed the S8. Audi wanted a slightly sharper, faster, and sportier car than the A8 instead of the sledgehammering S63. Audi clearly achieved its intended goal with the S8 and Audi is better for it.

This car is great! It's for the dedicated Audi enthusiasts who do not want just the "regular" A8. They need some added power, refined driving dynamics, and the likes and they get this in the S8...

For those who disagree or dislike this car, thats great, because Audi does not care about your opinion as you are not their targeted buyer anyway...

Some how I feel Audi would beg to differ from you @ThierryHenry14, as Audi and their parent VW have made it no secret they want to be #1 especially in the U.S.

In that case they must care about the #1 in U.S Benz and #2 in U.S Bimmer fans.
